I read this book in middle school when I felt everything was falling apart. I’d check it out in the school library and read it over and over again. It helped me through so much and I’m forever thankful for stumbling upon it again several years later.

When I first read this book, I was in sixth grade. I was still coping with the death of my sister, and my mothers crippling alcoholism. Reading this book, was such an escape for me. I felt so drawn to Green, and so connected to her through our losses. Alice Hoffman unintentionally helped me through some of the darkest times in my life, and I will never be able to repay that generosity. If you need an escape, and are looking for someone/something to lean on, read this book. It is such a gem.

It hurts so much. Of all the books i have read this is the most depressing story of all. The most suspense you will get is probably the part beginning( Sorry I don't want to spoil). I was excited to read a book assigned by my school but heck this story made me regret every single moment of that feeling. Read something worth while please.
