Hooray for the new chapter summary videos! I initially read the NCSS when my son was still a newborn. Pantley has a section that is geared toward babies younger than 4 months, so my focus was primarily on that. I skimmed the rest of the chapters just to get an idea of what to look for as he got beyond 4 months. As everyone knows, having a baby is time-consuming, and I didn't feel I had the time or energy to go back and read all the chapters in detail again once my son was older and the sleep issues really began. At that point, even coming up with a plan seemed overwhelming! Luckily, Pantley has added videos to the end of each chapter that summarize some of the key points, and her words of encouragement are motivating! I had planned on just watching the chapter videos, but I found that after I watched each one, I was motivated to go back and read the corresponding chapter in full. I've already started implementing some of her suggestions and seeing improvements! I really think the videos help break up the book into manageable pieces for a sleep-deprived mom to build and implement a great sleep plan.
  • Videos make this book very accessible

The addition of videos to The No-Cry Sleep Solution is a boon to this already extremely helpful book. In them, Pantley is warm, calming, and reassuring. Helping a baby to sleep better is a trying and exasperating task (I say this from current experience, and I haven’t succeeded just yet!), and Pantley’s reassurance in these videos is reenergizing. It can be hard to keep going with a new plan when your outside support is just the words on a page. Through her videos, Pantley offers the reader another way to look at each chapter’s lessons, and I think it has made the book even more accessible.

The no cry sleep solution is the only book I recommend to all parents struggling to get their children to sleep and the new enhanced ebook is a perfect portable reminder that sleep will come. The NCSS is not a quick plan going to get you sleep immediately. It is a plan which needs time to take effect and you do need to stick with it long enough to see if it taking effect. If you want a quick fix, this book isn’t for you. The addition of the videos at the end of each chapter in this enhanced ebook provide a welcome summary and give you confidence to continue. They act as prompts when you think you have gone wrong and reassurance that changes, no matter how small, will be happening even if at the time you can't see them. Do not expect a quick fix, but nothing worthwhile in life ever is!

With two theories of parenting choices at night "let her cry it out" or "spoil" this book is a great read for parents. It has videos at the end of each chapter that do an excellent job summarizing the chapter for a sleepy mother to comprehend the book. This book has advice for parents that co-sleep, breastfeed, baby in crib, or bottlefeed. This book helps understand why the baby has certain sleep patterns and how you can work with your darling baby to get a more restful nights sleep with realistic expectations. The No-Cry Sleep Solution will help you create a custom plan for you and your baby. This is the book for any parent truly ready to get a full nights rest.

Pantley's book offers myriad tricks of the trade to help get babies sleeping better. Her solutions do require patience on the part of the parents (she suggests that you try a solution for 10 days before assessing its helpfulness). If you're at a point where you're able to be patient, or if you feel that your babe to too young to be left to cry, this is the book for you. However, don't discount this book even if you are looking for a quicker solution: you may find that you can use some of Pantley's solutions in addition to help make the journey easier on both you and the babe. The new enhanced ebook is a great tool for sleep deprived parents who can't find the time or energy to skim (let alone read!) a book. Watch the videos to help you decide which chapters you should skim or read, and which chapters to read down the road when you're getting more rested. This would be a great gift for a parent-to-be to help them get off to the right start and avoid many of the traps that we all fall into. The videos are a fantastic addition to a great book.

This book is a great method for parents who don't want to let their babies cry! The videos add a nice summary to each chapter and aren't too lengthy.
