These are characters with flaws and stories that feel real and believable. I loved being in this small town with them.

To put it simply, this is Friends to Lovers done the way I always want but rarely see. I don’t gravitate towards romance personally, but this novel had me internally kicking up my feet, smiling and cursing out loud at this perfectly unconventional rom com. One of my favorite reads of the year, Emily Henry is my favorite romance writer, because of how smart she is with her handling of tropes and by how self aware this book is, she knows her stuff. Miles and Daphne are my favorite of her couples.

I didn’t think anything can get better than “Beach Read” but let ,e tell you I finished this book in a day while scream, giggling, and kicking my feet multiple times. From the plot twists to the closed proximity trope and the slow burn trope, this book was absolutely fantastically written. “Funny Story” is definitely my new favorite!!

Although I only read the sample of the book because I am too broke to buy it, it was soooooooooooo good. First few chapters and I was hooked, their personalities, their situation, their chances of getting to know each other and be friends (or maybe even lovers 😏) is just sooooo intriguing. It’s a 100/10 bruh. Read it and support the author Cz I swear it’s so good 😫😖

Really enjoyed this book especially how the characters were fleshed out and came alive. Very good read.

Used to enjoy her books but ever since she’s started being hyped by booktok, her books has started becoming a flop mess.
  • These are books that help me through the long dark night.

I look forward to an Emily Henry book release day as a big deal. Something I literally can’t put down and wraps me up in a comfort of quirky characters you love, a fantastic sense of place-the Traverse City area is one of my favorites and described so well. Emily writes thematically of families we make-what I call -“my tribe”. I come from a very small family and have a small wonderful family of my own but never knew joys of insta large parties at every holiday. I have created my own families throughout my life-of people I choose to be with and who love me-from all parts of life. I think that’s why Emily Henry books resonate with me so well. You will love this book.
