Description

Neil Josten is the newest addition to the Palmetto State University Exy team. He's short, he's fast, he's got a ton of potential—and he's the runaway son of the murderous crime lord known as The Butcher.

Signing a contract with the PSU Foxes is the last thing a guy like Neil should do. The team is high profile and he doesn't need sports crews broadcasting pictures of his face around the nation. His lies will hold up only so long under this kind of scrutiny and the truth will get him killed.

But Neil's not the only one with secrets on the team. One of Neil's new teammates is a friend from his old life, and Neil can't walk away from him a second time. Neil has survived the last eight years by running. Maybe he's finally found someone and something worth fighting for.

although it isn’t the most well-written books, something about the all for the game series makes me think about it everyday. i’ve reread the series at least seven times by now and it’s my first choice when i’m looking for comfort in literature. the relationships between characters are easy to understand yet so complex and rich that you could spend hours thinking through all the aspects of each dynamic. even characters that got maybe a handful of lines are remembered by the readers, which is remarkable for any book. sakavic did a great job at keeping the reader interested in both the plot and the personal lives of her characters, leaving not one boring scene in this story. another thing i love about this book is how the author steered so far away from the typical character types. the personalities of the characters can’t be easily defined and, although they’re very extreme in some cases, they can be seen as real people. some of the most interesting characters i’ve ever seen in media are from this book (particularly renee, the love of my life). each character has goals and reasons behind their actions to better help the reader understand where they’re coming from, even if the actions themselves aren’t justified. although sakavic spends most of the books focused on more plot-important characters, even the less developed ones are beloved by readers (take the upperclassmen, for example). the only negative thing i have to say is the low quality writing style, which i can usually look past. this book is riddled with plot holes and topics that are never expanded upon, leaving you confused at least once each chapter. many times there’s no explanation for a character’s actions, but i guess you could say sakavic “left it up to audience interpretation”. never in my life have i been so obsessed with a book like this, so if you’re interested in getting the brainrot that is all for the game i highly recommend you try reading it.

just a silly goofy sports anime time (so much bloodshed and murder and trauma) minus one star for the protective choker until fan art convinces me that it’s not a silly idea

The Foxhole Court is an incredible book. I am a little biased as I have read it over 5 times now haha, but every time I discover a new detail. It draws you in so magnificently that you don’t even notice the time passing. The characters are all so interesting and well developed and it truly helps the story along. If you enjoyed this book the next two only get better so I would 100% recommend continuing the series.

I really freaking loved this book. I typically look in the fantasy genre for books to read but here this one is with sports and the mafia. I am in love. I 100% recommended
