I’ve read this book three times in the last two years. No other book has helped me and my church focus on what matters and reignite our fire for why we started our church 25 years ago.

As a lifetime attender of a "church for churched people", this book got me. I recently became a fan of Andy's online sermons, which led me to a number of his other books, which led me to this one. All I can say is " I'm in". I challenge fellow "church for churched people attenders" to read this book, then continue on like nothing has happened!

Pastor Stanley, I am not new to the Christian faith, but have recently accepted my calling to ministry. Your insight has opened my eyes to many of the roadblocks I see in the Christian church, not the Christian faith. For so long, I have bee drawn to the typical southern Baptist organizational style of church, but as an aspiring minister of the Word, I have found church service to be stifling and frustrating. Bless you for spelling out why we are truly here to serve Him and His people. Best book I have read in years, not just Christian. Still reading, but still being filled each time I open the book on my iPad. I live in Flowery Branch and cant wait to visit your church. Minister Brown

Andy Stanley has captured the essence of why the American Church, and perhaps the world church, is in decline in our time. I've always been told to "Be careful what you pray for". It's time to STOP being carful about a lot of things pertaining to GOD and his plan for our lives. Andy pulls no punches related to the shortcomings of church and worship today. If we can't be critical and truthful about our shortcomings and how we represent our spiritual beliefs then how can we present the truth to the watching world? We don't need another caricature of truth, we need truth. And here it is. If we really love the lost, the unchurched, we are going to have to treat them better than ourselves or our ways. Well done Andy.

This book could not have come at a better time. Just launched a new church plant, and it's now time to make some adjustments after reading this. It all just makes sense. Read it again and then share it with someone else!

With churches shutting their doors every week, Andy Stanley helps us keep ours open by renewing our vision and fire for why we entered the ministry to begin with.
