Mary Roberts Rinehart's books are refreshing and lively. She writes in a way that places you there in the midst of her characters. I love that it allows one to experience life as it was 100 years ago, when our grandparents and greats were our age. More innocence, but troubles and scandals nevertheless. This book, K, has become one of my favorites. She has a wonderful way of shifting scenes gently yet keeping the suspense, the romance, and the story nicely balanced. It's an uplifting book and I'll read it again I'm sure. Thank you Mrs. Rinehart.
