I discovered the latest book "Hounded", was head-over-heels with the self-deprecating humor, the dog-love, the mystery and have read backwards to Bury theLead. I can't say that I follow the discovery of who-done-it but for this author I don't really care. I enjoy the character development and dogs so much I feel like of denizen of Paterson NJ and can almost see Charlie's and the Tara Foundation. If I'm reading the list correctly I have one more book to go to finish the series. I hope Mr. Rosenfelt is hard at work on the newest offering.

David Rosenfelt has so much going for him: a deft style; a functioning imagination thar creates a story line and remains in control of it; protagonists with whom he has a mutual respect and affection; antagonists everybody loves to hate; a bit of sex and romance; a delightful sense of humor; and dogs. He writes good mysteries that are fun to read. He's not particularly cerebral, but he by no means writes a weak story. Bury the Lead was only my second of his novels, but I enjoyed it as much as I did the first one and am pleased to see there are more. He knows how to use the language to his advantage, too, and didn't make me feel the need to correct his grammar or punctuate his sentences.
