I really liked this story in a very unique setting. The romance was just right for the circumstances. As a dog owner their stories along with the humans were fun characters. I look forward to reading the next one in this series!

It was great. I got confused a couple of times but fell in love with the characters Both people and dogs. Good story but a lot of technical stuff. Still a solid 5.

Zoey Butler loses her dream job at Future State Energy, after they were raided by the FBI. Unable to find another job after that embarrassment because that was her only job exposure experience. Zoey has an idea to ask the FBI to give her a job cause she is desperate and fortunate enough they take her up on that. She gets flown out to join with the FBI K-9 academy.
Liam Graham is an FBI special agent and instructor at Riverbend K-9 Academy. Liam pairs Zoey up with Tasha, a dog in need of a handler to stay in their competitive program. Zoey is thrilled to put her past behind her and give the mischievous rescue dog her own second chance. However, shortly after she arrives, the FBI realizes the Future State case is far from closed. And Zoey may be the key to solving it.
Zoey offers to go back in to help the FBI end things once and for all. Only this time, she’ll have Liam and Tasha for backup. But, the problems at Future State are more explosive than any of them suspect. The first thing to mention is that there’s isn’t a lot of cozy mystery hero’s who works in STEM. I was truly happy to have read this book, especially with the start of a new series which features a materials engineer. The second thing would be that Zoey is a relatable, clever and overall lovely character. I was fascinated by her competence and her fortitude as she was expertly clever. Thirdly, would be writer’s background grows this book to an even more interesting level. I can appreciated the details and that make it sophisticated but not overly much so. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, I have it loaded in my kindle now. I recommend this to everyone! Dog lovers, cozy readers, stem reader, even budding romance readers???. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
