    A mystery novel within a mystery novel is a very clever device and very engaging. I doubt, unless you are a master of literary references or for that matter, Poirot, or Agatha Christie, few if any readers would actually figure out the clues from the inner novel that solve the outer story. But, it’s fun trying.

    Disappointed. Did not enjoy Magpie Murders either. My book club agreed and this was the general reaction to the authors newest book.
