This was really so great, I just enjoyed every minute of it! Such lush descriptions of places, magical creatures, and characters. How could you not fall in love with this world. I loved the story and where it went. I laughed and cried and I’m sorry it is over. Although it leaves room for much more to tell ( please please)! A really great series, especially if you love Egypt, like I do!

The Empire of Gold is nothing short of a revelation. It is a truly difficult task for a writer to continue to enthrall readers beyond an original story, but Charkraborty has managed with each release to elevate her saga into the pantheon of literary trilogies. I could not set this book down until I was too tired to continue, then I was almost jittery until I could pick it up again and continue. It had been over a year since I’d read the preceding volumes, so I reread them in anticipation of The Empire of Gold. To my great surprise, they were even better the second time because I could take my time and luxuriate in the precision of Chakraborty’s writing. I suspect this trilogy will stand the test of time and still be relevant into the next millennium. Give your spirit a gift and read The Daevabad Trilogy.
