This is the story of Rhodopis and her journey as she begins to stand up for herself to her master. A book was a bit darker then others in the series but still a good read and enjoyed learning more about this world and the players. And the twist of Egyptian flavor adds to the story of gods and romance.

This was a wonderful story. I liked how this story is a cross between a myth and a fairy tale. Rhodopis has been a slave serving the god of Chaos for many many years. Things are happening and for the first time she is going to do something. She meets Abu, another god, and together they try to stop what is going on. Will they be successful? • A dangerous situation

A dangerous game of cat and mouse. Rhodopis is a slave in the temple complex of the god of chaos Seth. She’s lived there for more years than she cares to recall. Witness to countless acts of cruelty and depravity she’s resigned herself to being a slave with no hope of ever having an improved life. Until the god Ra and his delegation come for a meeting. Rhodopis is put in charge of the preparations and meets a newly acquired slave named Sophia. While she is able to go with the status quo and just try to survive for herself when something terrible happens to her new friend she is determined to do something to stop Seth. Enter a follower of Ra a lesser god named Abu. Sparks fly and a spy is born. Not your typical love story. Based on a version of Cinderella, this is going to be a hea or at least not right away. I did enjoy the spark that came alive when Rhodopis finally had enough. Wasn’t what I was expecting but an enjoyable read for sure!.
