I laughed and cringed my way through this book and actually started believing the strange things about these kids. Kevin Wilson’s quirky sense of humor really tickles my funny bone. I’ve read all of his books and I can’t wait for his next one!
  • Too weird for me.

One of my favorite books of this season! The prose is beautiful and Kevin manages to write women with an incredible realism that makes me feel seen. They are ugly and true and kind all at the same time and I want to read more!

Was kinda hoping the story would be twice as long to see what else would happen to the characters. Weirdly funny writing and dialogue. Big fan.
  • A wild ride

I hesitated to start reading this because the premise sounded so zany, but it works surprisingly well. I was absorbed into the story in no time, and breezed through the book, catching myself laughing out loud quite a few times. It’s definitely not the book to turn to for parenting advise, as I found myself cringing a few times. Unless you happen to be raising fire children, I suppose. Also, I found the foul language to be overdone and distracting as the book progressed. Overall, a fun read that’s hard to put down.
  • Excellent.

It’s a page turner that gives you hope, something we all need in these times. Yet, it speaks to the dysfunction in politics and personalities everywhere.
