Honestly this book started out pretty good. As with all romance novels there is eventually that point where you don’t know if the characters are going to make it past some issue between them, but they of course always do. Yet, this book had that like 4 times!!! The main female character was soooo frustrating! She didn’t know what she wanted. And I felt like she was very manipulative. Telling the male lead that she wanted one thing, then he would respect her wishes, just for her to change her mind for one night. Then after that she would be sad and blame him for keeping things professional!! Yet she honestly wasn’t very professional (spoilers next). She literally met, flirted, and went on dates with their rival competitor who had broken into the company and did multiple things to try and jeopardize it after she got a major promotion!!! So not only did she betray the company from a professional standpoint but she really hurt the male lead by dating a guy exactly like him after claiming she wanted to make it on her own. On top of that she used that to convince him to give her a raise (after she had only been with the company for a short amount of time and had already been given a raise, promotion, and new office!!!) extra benefits, like luxury cars and company credit cards and more!?? Which for me was really frustrating not because I didn’t want a strong woman to get compensated. But because she had already gotten so much for professional reasons and then she used her betrayal to get her more benefits that she hadn’t earned yet! Also, in the end she gets pregnant then hides the pregnancy from him FOR NO REASON!!! And the worst part really was that she never truly apologized for any of this behavior. She makes a lot of bad decisions, flip flops, and just is plain irritating for a majority of the book and never owns up to it.
