Spanish Short Stories for Beginners volume two once again provides a solid and streamlined method for those continuing their journey towards Spanish fluency. The difficulty is raised ever so slightly to challenge the beginner to advance reader. The highlights that stood out to me in this audiobook are the relevant expressions used. Another masterful benefit this audiobook provides is that there are no parallel texts. A lot, if not most, language learning books provide parallel texts so the reader can follow along. However, in Claudia Orea’s Volume 2 edition, this is not so; and frankly, I believe this increases the listening skill necessary to actually comprehend what is being said. Finally, like volume 1, this audiobook provides a glossary of all the expressions and words used. This, to me, is certainly a game change—albeit a life saver. Ultimately, I would recommend this book to my friends and family so they can benefit from the simplistic manner in how this book has been put together.

So helpful! My Spanish is around beginner/intermediate level, and the short-story format of this audiobook is easy enough to follow while still challenging me with new vocab and listening/pronunciation. The review questions at the end of each story are also super useful for checking how much you did (or didn’t) understand from the story, and give you a better idea on what vocab or reading/listening comprehension you need to work on. Definitely will be recommending these audiobooks to my friends!

This book definitely helps. I spent 30 minutes a day reading/listening this book which helped me build my vocabulary and confidence in speaking to Spanish native speakers. I am able to understand more Spanish words than I used to. I recommend 30 minutes a day, you’ll feel changes.

Volume two of Spanish Stories is just as helpful and interesting as volume 1! I loved reading through the stories and learning useful Spanish phrases I don’t think I would have gotten anywhere else. If you buy this book to learn Spanish, I promise you won’t be disappointed. This is a great book for beginners who want to be more fluent in the language. You’ll get exercises and translations as well that makes the book easy to follow and even easier to learn. I think the audio that comes along with this book is also very helpful in order to make sure you are using the right accents and hear how it should flow as a native speaker. Overall, this is a great book to learn Spanish from and I will buy more of the books in this series.
