This series is fascinating to me because I'm curious about the different definitions of arranged marriage. Claire is a Hollywood heiress but there's not really much left to her family besides the name. In order to get a leg up in her career and continue to live the life she's grown accustomed to, she agrees to marry Arthur Carter, an aging producer who was friends with her grandfather. Arthur has quite the reputation in Hollywood of being a philanderer but Claire is only thinking about how he can secure her future. When Claire sees Arthur being Arthur with another woman at their engagement party, she decides to do the same with a very attractive man that she just met. Unfortunately for her, the man she chose turns out to be her soon to be stepson. What transpires is a story of fate, love, and chemistry. I wouldn't call Claire and Arthur's relationship "arranged." Claire is every bit a golddigger and her mother encourages this behavior. I loved the interactions between Claire and Jake. This story also parallels a lot of current news events regarding what happens behind the curtain in Hollywood and I appreciated how this subject was dealt with. *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*
