There was way too much unnecessary information written which made the book hard to follow.

This is a wonderful book in many, many ways. Nadia has shared her life with others many times and I am glad she has been successful in getting it in print. Heartbreaking and eye opening it is filled with hope.

Despite this title, you will love this book. It’s a horrific, gruesome, beautiful and somber story about the author’s life before, during and after being an ISIS captive. It had myself and other readers in my book club wondering what we were doing or complaining about in 2014. It’s a harsh reality about the war in Iraq, but plants a burning seed in yourself to want to learn more about history in the Middle East. You will want to fight Nadia’s fight right alongside her. You will weep. You will count your blessings. And a fire will be lit inside of you.
