I will be sending a copy of this book to my son’s. They are not in the military, they don’t need to be to understand the messages.

Pues me medio perdí ya casi al final pero fue porque lo deje de leer, así que tuve que buscar resúmenes de los capítulos y juro que me gusto mucho el mensaje que viene detrás de cada capitulo. Muy bueno!!

As a 16 yr old girl, this book was absolutely beautiful. Some parts are slow and hard to read get through, but you have to look at the book as a whole. I would definitely recommend for anyone over 12-13 ish because it has some more intense topics that could be difficult for someone younger to understand.

It’s a very short book - 10 chapters each correspond to a different piece of wisdom. However, each chapter/section seems to end JUST when there seems to be a “teachable moment.” As a result, the book contains more stories from McRaven’s time in the military than actionable advice. Potentially useful content feels interrupted - rather than illustrated - by the author’s stories. McRaven should have gone more in depth with advice to readers. Luckily, this surface-level advice can be read in a few hours, so it doesn’t end up consuming *too* much of your time
