  • It’s interesting but very biased

This book is well-written to a certain extent. However, it is also noticeably biased, which limits its ability to present a full picture view of the Crusade wars. The book fails to explore all angles and wrongdoings associated with the Crusades. I also find it lacks sufficient illumination on the real causes that led to these historical conflicts and the reasons behind the unfolding massacres. Was it just because Jerusalem was a holy place or was more to it than that? Anyway, it has some very interesting historically accurate facts so I would suggest to read this book but also other books on crusade wars to get a full picture on what really happened, the light and shadows, and also Why it really happened.

Super biased, author seems to have a lot of hate for Muslims. I wanted to read something interesting about the crusades and learn a little. This ain’t it

The Middle East has been invaded for the last 1400 years and calls Muslims violent. Yeah Muslims are violent for defending their homeland. Did y’all know that when Christians took Jerusalem in the first crusade they murdered a whole town of defenseless people. But yeah Muslims are the bad ones. The start of the book he talks about how Muslims spread their faith with violence like Christianity hasn’t done that. Christianity has done that to literally every part of the world.

When a writer choses to inject his own awful opinions over history and what actually happened I would rather not read on. History should be matter of fact never opinion.

I’m not sure how someone can refer to these Christians fundamentalists that butchered their Jewish neighbors in a better light than the ottomans who happily welcomed the Jews after they were expelled from Spain, the writer conveniently excluded from his book the massacres that the crusaders committed in German and French Jewish communities, then he claims that these crusaders helped democracy.
