Description

My name is Talon Shaw and I am the alpha of a pride of black panthers. My cat finds his mate in a human female and she wants a date! Panthers don’t date…we mate.
Before my plans fall into place to court the woman who is destined to be my mate, one of my pride is taken and held for ransom.
That ransom is me.
I will do anything for my pride, but my little human mate puts herself in my place. When I find out that she has been taken, along with a young girl from my pride, I vow to bring them both home. My Guardians and I hunt to find my mate, save my pride, and deal out justice for those my enemy has harmed.
That is…if I’m not too late to save them both.

This is my first book from this author and I quite enjoyed it. How can one not be drawn into it with the super sexy panther shifters, strong human women and danger around every corner. It’s quick to get into and keeps you entertained, but... My one and only criticism is that when the book jumps from one scene to another there’s no warning. I mean, I have to read 1-3 paragraphs before I realize the book shifted from one storyline to another so completely opposite of the other. For example, one paragraph you’re with Liberty then WHAM!! you’re with the bad guys. It’s actually quite annoying, takes you completely out of the story because you have to go back and figure out when the scene changed, and I have a huge thing about things like this that’s making it really hard to give it 4 stars. I originally gave it 5 but the more I thought of it and now that I know it’s an ongoing issue this author has, having started book two, I had to come back and change and edit my review. I had thought I’d end up buying and reading all the books but I’m not so sure anymore. It’s weird because the author uses these panther graphics throughout the book but they make no sense as to why they’re in there. I mean, one is placed in the middle of a sentence! The middle of a sentence. Why? If you’re going to use graphics, use them to let the reader know about the sudden shift. I hope book 2 doesn’t completely turn me off from this series or this author. We shall see....

I loved this book. It was a fun story to read. I loved the characters and the way they were developed. I already downloaded the next one in the series. Keep them coming.

Okay read. Not my favorite writing style. Took a star off because the author leads you through every step of the story. I believe it is the lack of writing experience. Hopefully, in time, she will trust that her audience can grasp where the story is going on there own. Also repetitive. Every time Liberty is touched we’re being told why it brings her pain. Every time! With that said, it was an interesting story. Definitely a cliffhanger. I actually liked the characters. There were a few unbelievable issues for me like the kidnapping. I read a lot of paranormal. There is no way men can be on another species land without being seen, heard or smelt. Talon and Liberty’s relationship wasn’t as smooth as it could/ should have been. The author narrated the majority of the book, so I didn’t get to experience anything myself. Very distracting. There we’re editing issues as well, but I didn’t feel it took too much away from the story for me. Except when the author forgot her characters. Example, the rescue. Savage was with Talon, but the author kept saying Winter said. Edit please. Distracting. The story definitely has potential. I’m just not sure I’m interested enough to continue series. I do recommend because I’m in the minority.

A Bar name Deuce where it all began. What a story of two sisters, follow on their family business. Liberty and Nova had purpose to continue in the footsteps of their parents. A township comes aware of shifters in the town... how bigotry almost set a pace on a bar mostly of fair of the unknown. The alpha step out with the greatest secret of their presence. Talon handle it with grace and finesse. I couldn’t put it down until it was finished. It’s good to be retirees.
