This was a very good book the first one I’ve read by this author . Even with what Faye had done , although unwittingly still Torkel still loved his Chosen . I will be interested in finding out more with the men of his teams.

Despite some of the reviews, I'm actually happy I decided to go forward with this book. I really enjoyed the story. Page turner for me. Faith/ Faye was very naive. Both she and Torkel had to learn to trust. Good lesson. They had a very strong love. Lots and lots of excitement. I'm hoping for a good resolution for Lindsey. She was too happy, but strong, to endure what she's had to. I will admit I was angry with Faye, but soon realized her naivety. Life lessons can be hard. Love the writing style of Michelle Howard. This is not my first book by her and definitely will not be my last. She always takes me along for her adventures. Highly recommend.

I despise stupid people who try to justify bad decisions with emotion and tears. This book just ticked me off. Faith has no situational awareness. No sense of self. No common sense and a naivety bordering on clinically insane. She despises herself enough to want to change her identity from Faith to Faye and start over as someone else, but she’s still the same out-of-touch airhead she was before leaving earth; changing her name isn’t going to help that. How do people like this function on a daily basis? They aren’t even aware enough to know that others continually have to pick up the slack for them. Whatever happened to smart, savvy, resourceful heroines who don’t make you want to hate a fictional character, It is ridiculously asinine and I won’t bother to read any more of the series.

I loved this story; absolutely LOVED it! There are two people who are so desperate for love and family, it’s inevitable they be together. The love scenes between the two are absolutely scorching hot, and I loved this world that Howard built. This was one of those stories that had me sitting on my couch in tears. I don’t cry often, and when a story can lead me to that point, I HAVE to give it five stars. Faith and Torkel go through so much; these two characters captured my heart. I really want to jump into the next book and I hope it comes out on audio with Michael Pauley as narrator, he did such a wonderful job in the first; I hope he continues the series....Sara
