“Sweet Obsession is a standalone novel in the Sweet Addiction series, and crosses over with the Alabama Summer series. Chronologically, it is set after Sweet Possession and between All I Want and When I Fall”. Excerpt by author. The main characters Brooke and Mason worked across the street from each other. Brooke worked at Dylan's bakery while Mason owned the hot yoga studio. Mason was new to the area having moved from Australia. From the first chapter of this book I began to struggle with these characters and the storyline. Brooke was a hit it and quit it type of girl when it came to sex. Brooke's main concern was looking for sexy outfits and shoes that drew attention to her body. Brooke's character loved sex but not the commitment of sex. Brooke's character was aggressively forward with her demands for sex. She was a promiscuous character whose only concern was achieving her next orgasm. Mason's character wanted more from Brooke. He wanted to date and talk before having sex. The execution was boring from the beginning. Neither Mason or Brooke held my attention. The constant sexual flirting was obnoxious. The entire story was driven off this sexual flirtiness. Ms. Daniels went above and beyond the sexual duty of making Brooke a womanwhore just for sake of proving the double standard women get for being sexually promiscuous compared to men. I still thought Brooke tried too hard to have sex. There was nothing subtle or sexy about her. Brooke was bold and wild. Brooke owned her sexuality which was great except Mason made it clear he was not turning sex with Brooke he was slowing the process down. These characters exuded limited growth.

After 422 pages on iBooks this could not keep me interested at all. Its just not for me. Slow, main female seems like a (insert word here) but she thinks it's a double standard(if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck it's a duck) different guys each time or night come on really. It also slow with the romance of said couple because of her background yet again duck. Not my cup of tea maybe others.

As with everything that this author gives us, I can't get enough. I will always want more. The stories, people & scenes she creates are amazing & are amazingly easy to read over & over. 1,000% worth reading every single title she writes.

In the beginning I was disappointed that this was Brooke's story but this book turned out to be hilariously sexy. I would like Joeys story next. Great series

Let's get this out of the way first: I LOVED this BOOK. It's my favorite of the series. Gawd Mason! Yes, I will fangirl and gush all over the place. " I bet this was his plan all along. Pull me in. Pull me under." If you haven't read the other books in Sweet Addiction and Alabama Summer series, just don't series jump. Although J. Daniels provides excellent background, you get more out of the characters if you have been immersed in the stories prior. Why do I love this book? It hit all the check boxes in my perfect Rom/Com reads. To die for, swoon worthy Hero who has to flub up once? Check. Mason is like the perfect man. He is thoughtful, kind, caring and, oh man, can take care of you in the bedroom too. What about our heroine? Brooke was someone I could perfectly relate to. Did she come off as a one-night stand too many? Yes, but she didn't think she was looking for love. She was enjoying her life and having fun. Someone I could completely relate to as this was my story. I wasn't looking for love, like Brooke, but came in the unexpected form of my now Husband. It made me feel weird, confused and unsure. All the things you watch our heroine go through and grow through. Oh, and I can't let this review end without mentioning that Joey (OMG) gets his own chapter. High five- Happy Dance! This series is a must read. Book 3 was the delicious buttercream icing on top of that chocolate decadent cupcake. Highly recommend. Not read the others, do yourself a favor and get to reading before you jump into Mason and Brooke's HEA. 5 out of 5 HUGE fangirl stars.

A great continuation of this "sweet" series. I absolutely love Mason with that sexy accent, gentle nature, loving heart, and beautiful soul. Brooke didn't stand a chance, and just kept fighting the inevitable. I so hope that this series will continue, as I have a huge sweet tooth, and I'm not ready for this to end just yet.
