Running from her past, Tiffany winds up stranded in a seaside tourist town with a new identity. The last thing she expects is to fall for Jake, the handsome local shopkeeper who is grieving the loss of his sister.

Jake can't resist the mysterious beauty who blows into his sleepy town. Despite their differences, he feels connected to her in a way he's never felt before.

As their chemistry ignites, Tiffany lets her guard down for the first time since the disastrous end of her marriage. But just as she dares to hope for a future with Jake, her violent ex tracks her down, ready to reclaim what he sees as his.

To protect Tiffany, Jake will have to tap into a strength he never knew he had. As Trent's obsession erupts in a brutal showdown, Jake vows to keep Tiffany safe and make her ex finally face the justice he deserves.

This is a piece of clean fan fiction. It was refreshing compared to the blatant lust that inhabits the majority of the genre, but lacked elevation and polish. A lot of the language/descriptors used were repetitive at times without serving any literary function. Despite it being the reason she finally left her husband, Tiffany seemingly forgot how Trent grabbed her hair and bashed her head against a wall, which is assault, stating he couldn’t go to prison just for insulting and throwing things at her. The epilogue also indicates Jake got stitches even though the paramedic said he wouldn’t need any.

Reminds me a bit of the Nicholas Sparks book “Safe Haven”. Can’t wait to finish reading, it’s going to be a fast read too seeing as it is only a bit over 300 pages. I’m going to be taking my time :)

Right from the beginning you are dragged right in with so many thoughts. I love how it switches for each point of view. I feel as the ending came very abruptly, and could be eased into a little more.

A story of healing and a sweet innocent romance with verbal and physical abuse involved. The main female lead grows a lot within the book being very closed off to new interactions and relationships with people constantly living in fear of the past and what the future could hold, it was nice reading her come out of her shell and connect than ultimately face her fears and conquering them. The male lead was very sweet and timid but loyal and determined, always being patient and willing to help. The supporting characters were interesting, glad to hear this book is a series that involves the other family members.

Loved the characters, very sweet. Too bad too many women in the world have to deal with men like the character "Trent". Glad he got what was coming to him.
